After years of exclusivity, Death Stranding has finally arrived on Xbox Series X|S, surprising fans of Hideo Kojima’s groundbreaking game. The newly launched Director’s Cut edition is available at a 50% discount for a limited time, allowing Xbox players to experience the game’s enhanced content and new features.

Originally launched as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2019, Death Stranding is the first title Kojima Productions released after splitting from Konami. The game's release on Xbox marks a significant shift, as Sony’s exclusivity agreement expired, paving the way for the game’s broader availability. Kojima Productions has also enhanced combat mechanics in the Director’s Cut, introducing moves like the drop kick and the Maser Gun to stun adversaries. There’s also a firing range for practicing weapon loadouts and a Racetrack where players can compete in online time trials against others .

Kojima Productions expands Control Over the Death Stranding Franchise

The Xbox release coincides with a broader expansion of Kojima Productions’ ownership over the Death Stranding IP, which the studio now fully controls. Hideo Kojima has expressed excitement about bringing Death Stranding to the Xbox community, and his studio is committed to connecting more players worldwide.
